H.B. Monte’s earliest childhood influences date back to James Brown, LL Cool J, Kurtis Blow, and Tupac . His dedication and love for music became evident at a young age and he was able to incorporate his passion and talent in order to rise above struggles and economical hardships. By the age of nine, H.B. Monte had already begun writing rhymes and spinning records. His diverse ethnic background has had a strong influence on his music. His African, Latino and European background have exposed him to various genres of music and has directly inspired his innovative style. These ethnic attributes and tough life lessons throughout his upbringing have helped H.B. to formulate his sound and has supplied his music with a level of relatability that is the essential component of awe-inspiring music of today. Global radio play, television appearances, club performances, motion pictures; H.B. is determined to have it all. His popularity grew in 2002 when he performed with Ludacris during a radio station event in Boston and with Fabolous at various venues in Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He also created and headlined “Havok Hour”, a critically acclaimed hip-hop radio show on WBRU 95.5 FM in Providence, Rhode Island. By 2004, H.B. Monte’s songs had received syndicated radio play on international radio and had a live appearance on the CBS Sunday Morning Show. H.B. also featured on a number of corporate and event mix CDs including Def Jam's “We Gets Busy”, “Scion Extravaganza”, Star and Buckwild's “Imperial Voyage of Hate” and Funkmaster Flex's “Birthday Bash at the Roxy”.
In 2006, H.B., previously known as "Hav-Boy", internationally toured with top recording artists of Infamous G-Unit. In 2007, he executive produced "Can I Speak to Biggie" (produced by Chris Ward) which featured Maino and DTP recording artist Chingy. The song was a dedication to Notorious B.I.G., marking the 10th anniversary of his death. While he was coordinating the artists for the song he also organized a phone conference with artists Jadakiss and Mase who have not spoken since they were artists together on Bad Boy Entertainment. He recently hosted a Promotional CD for a major motion picture called "Illegal Tender" (with the lead actor Rick Gonzalez and the Reggaeton superstar Tego Calderon) which featured some of H.B.’s own songs. His other feature accomplishments include "Poppin Remix" (a 2006 international Chris Brown remix produced by Great Scott), and “Get Up Get Up” featuring Redman (produced by Rockwilder). H.B. is also branching upward and outward from his musical talents and is currently in the process of finalizing a ringtone deal in 2008, which will carry exclusive mobile phone ringtones, wall papers, and ringback tones. He is also making his mark in the television and film industry by working on upcoming projects such as a potential television host for a show entitled "What's Cooking" and participation in a documentary and short film with the film company Snow Bird Films.
